Add EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, and you get a family car built around the people inside it. San Diego life asks a lot from a vehicle, and the Subaru Ascent family car checks every box. This guide breaks down all the features that put the 2026 Subaru Ascent on the Dalton Subaru National City shopping list of the best SUVs for families. What Are the Key 2026 Subaru Ascent Specs for Daily Driving? A 2.4-liter direct-injection turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine powers every 2026 Subaru Ascent, delivering 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. A Lineartronic CVT manages this power and distributes it through standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. For daily commuting and long-distance travel, the Ascent offers the following performance metrics: Fuel Efficiency: The SUV achieves up to 26 MPG on the highway and 19 MPG in the city (note: Limited and higher trims are rated at 25/19 MPG). Driving Range: With a 19.3-gallon fuel tank, the Ascent can reach over 500 miles of highway range on a single fill-up. Cargo Capacity: The interior provides up to 75.6 cubic feet of maximum cargo space when you fold the second and third rows flat. How Capable is the 2026 Ascent for Off-Roading and Towing? The 2026 Subaru Ascent specs also include 8.7 inches of ground clearance and standard X-MODE, which optimizes the AWD system for better traction on slippery or loose surfaces. The Base and Premium trims feature the standard X-MODE with Hill Descent Control. Limited and higher trims, though, get Dual-Function X-MODE with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud settings for weekend adventures beyond the pavement. For those needing to haul equipment, the Ascent delivers a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs, the highest of any Subaru vehicle to date. This allows families to easily pull small campers, boats, or utility trailers for weekend adventures. How Much Passenger and Cargo Space Does the 2026 Subaru Ascent Interior Offer? The 2026 Subaru Ascent interior is a "roomy mobile headquarters" for family adventures. It offers a class-leading passenger volume of up to 153.2 cubic feet, providing more space than the Toyota Highlander, Nissan Pathfinder, or Mazda CX-90. Legroom is a standout feature. With 31.7 inches of legroom, the Ascent offers more space for rear passengers than the Toyota Highlander, Kia Telluride, and Hyundai Palisade. This ensures that even adults can ride in the back comfortably during long San Diego commutes. The interior is built for utility and convenience, featuring: Cargo Capacity: The Subaru Ascent interior trunk area holds up to 75.6 cubic feet with seats folded, plus a dedicated underfloor storage tray to hide valuables. Connectivity: Standard USB-C and USB-A ports are located on the 3rd row Subaru Ascent interior so every passenger's devices stay charged. Easy Access: Extra-wide rear door openings simplify loading car seats or bulky gear. 60/40-split second-row bench folds flat when you need to haul large cargo. What Are the Standard Features of the 2026 Subaru Ascent Interior? Every 2026 Ascent comes equipped with high-value technology and comfort features designed for durability. Notable standard and available features include: Climate and Comfort: Tri-zone automatic climate control with air vents for all three rows is standard. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are also standard on all 2026 trims. Technology: A high-resolution 11.6-inch touchscreen featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also standard across the lineup. Family Tools: The 2026 Ascent comes with standard 19 cup holders to keep everyone hydrated. Available Cabin Connect allows you to speak to third-row passengers through the rear speakers. An available 54-inch panoramic moonroof brightens the entire cabin. The Subaru Ascent 8-seater interior configuration uses a second-row bench, while the 7-passenger layout features second-row captain's chairs for easier access to the rear. Dalton Subaru Loves to Care

Dalton Subaru is providing comfort, hope, and confidence to children in South Bay San Diego who are in need. Imagine having to go without proper fitting shoes and socks on a regular basis. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country and even here in San Diego County, this can be a harsh reality. Helping others is the key to a strong community which is why Dalton Subaru believes in helping to support individuals and families in urgent need. And this year, during Subaru Loves to Help® month, we joined Subaru and retailers nationwide in partnering with Operation Warm, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. This partnership will continue to amplify our support for those who need it most. On February 28, 2024 Dalton Subaru hosted an Operation Warm Event with SBCS to provide children in urgent need with brand-new shoes, socks and warm coats. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, they can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being. These items can mean the difference between going to school or not; between participating in activities or sitting out. No child should ever have to face these circumstances. That’s why Subaru and its retailers like us are proud to be the largest automotive supporter of Operation Warm. Through this partnership and other historical Subaru Loves to Help efforts, Subaru and our retailers will have helped more than 750,000 children and adults in urgent need so far. This initiative is part of the Subaru Love Promise, our commitment to improving lives in the communities where we live and work. And it’s just one of the reasons why Dalton Subaru is more than a car dealer and Subaru is More Than a Car Company®

Meet Mini

December was filled with delight for Sylvia and family when she went out and adopted Mini on December 11th, 2023 from the El Cajon Humane Society. Mini had just turned 4 years old and was 1.5lbs over her 3lb weight limit. Her paws couldn't with stand her weight and they rubbed rough against the friction of daily walks. However, after adoption, Mini has turned the corner and healed her paws and is treated like a total Princess! Hooray for adopting Mini! Thanks for sharing your story with us while during your Subaru Service with Dalton Subaru. We hope you get to enjoy our on-site Dog Park!
