In this guide
The full Subaru lineup, on the Mile of Cars in National City.
Dalton Subaru National City stocks the full new and pre-owned Subaru lineup at 2829 National City Blvd on the Mile of Cars — including the 2026 Crosstrek, the 2026 Outback, and the Forester, all on standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. See live availability and pricing at subarudalton.com new inventory.
Most people who search "Subaru for sale near San Diego" have picked a brand, not a model. The next call is the one most shoppers haven't made yet: sorting Crosstrek from Outback from Forester by how they actually drive. That's the part we're here for.
We sit on the Mile of Cars alongside Dalton Hyundai and Dalton Toyota, serving National City, Chula Vista, and San Diego County.
Why shop the Subarus for sale here.
Subaru builds every model we sell around standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, the through-line across the whole lineup. Whether you want a compact crossover for National City streets or a wagon for a desert weekend, the AWD safety story is the same. Size, power, and price are what change.
Most shoppers arrive sorting between three families: the compact Crosstrek, the midsize Outback, and the SUV-shaped Forester. We walk all three so your pick comes from how the car sits under you on a test drive, a better guide than whatever ad put Subaru on your list.
The new lineup, short version:
| Model | Power | Starts at* | Confirm specs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 Crosstrek | 180 hp (gas) · 194 hp (hybrid) | $26,995 | fueleconomy.gov |
| 2026 Outback | 180 hp (2.4T: 260 hp) | $34,995 | subaru.com |
| Forester | 180 hp (gas) · 194 hp (hybrid) | $29,995 | subaru.com |
*Starting prices are Subaru of America's published 2026 MSRPs, before the $1,450 destination and delivery fee and before any current offer. For exact horsepower, torque, and mpg on any 2026 Subaru, ask us for current numbers or check the official figures at subaru.com and fueleconomy.gov.
What we actually see on the lot.
The deepest stock on our lot is usually the Outback and the Forester, with Crosstrek moving fast. Plenty of shoppers arrive narrowed to "a Subaru" but not a model. A test loop down National City Blvd and onto the freeway on-ramp in each usually settles it — the Forester's tall roof and easy parking make it an easy daily driver, especially with two car seats in back.
Our team pulls all three to the front row so you can sit in each back to back and check the Outback's 8.7 inches of clearance for yourself. A spec sheet rarely settles a comfort question. Most of these side-by-side drives happen on a weeknight after work; we're open till 8 PM, Monday through Saturday.
It's common to walk in sure you need the largest model for a big move. Map the actual cargo need and the base Outback often covers it, no stepping up to the 2.4T for capacity you won't use.
The biggest model is not automatically the best fit. We steer you toward the smaller, cheaper vehicle when it fits — the wrong-size car is expensive even when it is on sale. Jose De Anda, Sales Manager
The buyers who leave happiest let a back-to-back drive settle it. Want a specific model, trim, or color? Call ahead and we'll confirm it's on the lot.
Which Subaru fits you.
Three families, three jobs. The quick read before you drive them:
Fuel economy, cargo, and trim content differ across the lineup. For independent efficiency ratings, fueleconomy.gov lists EPA figures by model and year, and edmunds.com publishes model-by-model reviews.
Warranty and ownership basics.
Every new Subaru we sell carries Subaru's factory warranty: a 3-year/36,000-mile basic limited warranty plus a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. We hand you the printed coverage sheet before you sign anything. On a pre-owned Subaru, ask us how much of that original coverage remains, since it runs from the in-service date.
A few ownership points worth confirming in person:
- Ask us how much original coverage remains on a used unit — the coverage clock starts the day the car was first put in service, not the day you buy it.
- Recall and safety information for any VIN is public. Check nhtsa.gov by entering the vehicle's VIN.
- Recent Subaru models have earned IIHS Top Safety Pick honors, a record that feeds strong resale across the lineup. Verify at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (iihs.org).
As a Subaru retailer, we take part in the national Subaru Love Promise community commitment. Confirm any coverage detail with us in person; we would rather you leave with the printed sheet than a promise from memory.
What to bring when you visit.
Arrive ready and it moves faster. Bring:
- Your driver's license
- Proof of insurance
- Any trade-in title or payoff details
Our sales floor is open 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Sunday. If you are financing, our finance team can outline current programs once you are here, and you can book a visit through contact us. For maintenance after the sale, use schedule service.
What about price?
The real number is the car's window sticker plus whatever offer is running that day. Both move, so we quote you the live one, not a figure that's already aging. See Subarus with prices attached, and for MSRP context by model, kbb.com and edmunds.com publish independent Subaru pricing you can hold us to.
Trading in? Bring your registration and payoff amount and we will put a real trade number in front of you the same visit, so you compare out-the-door figures instead of guessing. New, pre-owned, or Subaru Certified Pre-Owned, we will tell you which lane any car is in, since it changes both the price and the warranty.

The right-size promise
Our reviews single us out for not upselling, and this is where it shows: if the smaller, cheaper Subaru covers your real use, that is the one we point you to, even when a bigger sale is on the table.
